IFSWF Knowledge Sharing Workshop in Baku 1-2 March 2016

On Behalf of SOFAZ, SC1 Lead

Dear IFSWF Members,

The IFSWF, in partnership with SOFAZ and SC1, is organizing a knowledge-sharing workshop in Baku, Azerbaijan on 1-2 March 2016.

As you know from the minutes of the Board meeting on 4 November 2015, the Board has welcomed and supported the workshop idea put forward by Mr. Shahmar Movsumov, CEO of SOFAZ at the 2015 Annual Meeting in Milan.

The event will be structured as a series of informal working sessions, which will provide an opportunity for IFSWF members to collaborate more closely with peers. SOFAZ is taking the lead in organizing the workshop, and tentative topics include:

  • Santiago Principles in Practice: Implementing the Investment Mandate and Reporting Performance and Risk
  • Santiago Principles in Practice: Capabilities and Support Systems for Alternative Asset Classes
  • Comparison of Investment Strategies Across the Membership
  • A Holistic Approach to Risk Management
  • Socially Responsible Investing (SRI) Sovereign Development Funds,
  • Strategic Investors, and “Double-Bottom-Line” Investments
  • How Can the IFSWF Increase Knowledge Sharing and Staff Exchange?
  • Should the IFSWF Organize Research Trips to Investment Recipient Countries?
  • Expanding the IFSWF’s Collaborative Research Framework

We value input from members as SOFAZ, SC1, and the Secretariat continue to collaboratively develop this workshop. Please complete this short form by 11 December 2016 to provide feedback, suggest additional topics, and indicate your interest in participating.
